Chinese New Year: Rooster

This is Mine.  Since I was born in 1981—Shoot, now you know how old I am—sorta.

Rooster Overview

Get ready for an outstanding year. Aside from the Snake, the Rooster has the best prospects in the year of the Ox. This is the kind of year you have been waiting for, as everything seems to go your way. You have been diligently working towards some long term goals that finally come together this year. Your relations are felt at new levels, as you find a sense of satisfaction that you may not have experienced in a long time. Things you may have thought not possible will become a reality for you in this positive year.

Rooster Rating

72% (10 favorable and 2 neutral months)

Rooster Career

Determination and diligence are two key aspects that put the Rooster over the top this year. 2009 is a year that you should promote yourself: Your ideas and your talents will be highly regarded and you will be recognized for past and present efforts. Give it your best this year and seize any opportunity that presents itself. This year will certainly be a landmark for years to come, as you will remember it as one of your most productive times in your life.

Rooster Relationships

Domestic matters will fare well for the Rooster this year. You will find comfort in the support and encouragement of family members and friends alike. Seek advice from your seniors, as they may provide information that opens doors to areas that are not known. The social life for the Rooster is a busy schedule. You will enjoy the company of others in many social functions and parties. Romance is highly favorable for the unattached Rooster, so flaunt your feathers.

Rooster Health

Health issues are minor for the Rooster this year. Though exercise and diet are not an issue, you may have a problem maintaining the discipline of a steady routine. Take the time to get the exercise you need and everything should work out fine for you. Being somewhat of a risk taker, you may want to try something new that holds your interests. Consider surfing or parasailing to indulge your fancy.

Rooster Wealth

This a great year financially for the Rooster. If you have any available funds, you may want to reinvest it in your work. This could prove to be highly favorable and you will reap the benefits in your return. One key issue is your spending habits. Make sure you don’t spend the money before it is in the bank or this could pose a problem with your budget. Receive professional advice for any large investments in areas that you are unfamiliar.

***I am absolutely floored how it says: Get ready for an outstanding year.  I a m SOOO ready for that outstanding year.  I’ll tell you what!

So, I’ve been MIA from much of the computer world, NOT relating to facebook recently.  I haven’t even taken many pictures recently.  No real reason.  I’ve found myself quite happy actually.  I’m not having to take the sleeping pills at night, which makes me happy, cause man, them things gave me wacky dreams!
This new medication the doctor put me on for the seizures, I am just in love with-for the most part.  I may regret saying this-in fact i’m sure that I will.  It is keeping my headaches away!!! Yeah it is!  I swear!  I woke up with one the other day, but its cause I had missed a dose. :(   It’s been a long hard week and stuff, ya know?  The major side effects of this med is weight loss…WOOT! I have about 50 lbs I could lose, right?, and another one is that soda pop will have a slight metallic taste.  Thats okay with me, My coke addiction has GOT TO STOP!  In fact it has.  I’ve had root beer twice in the last two weeks.  Give some credit peoples! :)   I think I had about 8 oz of a coke the morning I woke up with a headache, but I Just thought it would help.  Yeah I was wrong….I preferred my water.
Weight loss-I’m all for.  Nutrition, I think I’m more for.  I’m not eating.  I’m not drinking.  I’ve nibbled at things.  I got a crispy chicken sandwich at Wendy’s the other day, I took liek 3 bites and I was completely full.  COMPLETELY.  Its pretty pathetic.  We went to the Pie in SLC with the Fam on Thursday, I ate two pieces. Thats probably the most I’ve eaten in the last 10 days.  Healthy? NOPE!  At least I ate though right?  I really want to lose weight, but I really need to be healthy.  I dunno waht to do. :(   I am trying realllly hard, I promise.
This medicine is so good though.  Its keeping the headaches away, its helping me sleep, I’m happy.  Come on, when was the last time that I was happy?  Sure I have my sad days, but I always have hte Hannah Montana song rolling thru my head…Life’s what you make it, so lets make it ROCK!!!
I try and eat some sort of fruit every morning and drink lots of water, but I keep having stomach pains.  I’ve been on this medicine for 2 weeks, I’m already 2 pants size smaller-I AM working out as well though.  Dave bought me an exercise bike-and I’m doing the WII fit.  Bai and I also do a Dance Party often too.  People with kids, gotta do the dance party!!!

So recently I’ve had strong feelings to go up and visit Dave’s family in Idaho.  Meaning his great grandpa in BUrley, and then his grandparents and paretns and siblings that are close to Boise.  I couldn’t figure out why, but the thought just kept entering my mind for months.  We can not make it up there in the weather, to go thru a certain pass is so hard in the winter.  We went one time in February, and we vowed never to do it again!  It was just scary.  Couldnt’ see that far in front of ya etc…
Well today, I spent some time at my mom’s with Bai, and on my way home, I called Dave to see whats up…He told me that his dad had just called and told him his grandpa had died.  This one particular grandpa lived about 45 minutes away most of the year!  He lives in AZ. in the really cold months.  I cried.  My mind flashed to the moments that Bai had spent with him.  Visiting him in the hospital after his heart surgery, him holding her when she was almost a year old right after Bennett was born, and then at Dave’s Aunt’s wedding.  She wouldn’t calm down and didn’t want anyone!  He took her and drew a cat with her.  I STILL have the drawing (Yeah i’m sort of a pack rat), and I posted the picture on my wall of facebook this evening.  Its so sweet.  Thanks Katie for posting it!!! :)
Aside from thinking about the moments he had with Bai, I thought of the times we’ve promised we’d get together go up for Sunday dinner or something, and NOT FOLLOWED THRU!  We didn’t see them at all for Christmas.  Instead of signing their CHristmas card to us Grandma and Grandpa they signed it Aunt and Uncle.
He was just out for a walk, like he does everyday, took two deep breaths, and apparantly those were his last.  I do not know much of the story yet, but I am very sad, and I have only know him a short 3.5 yrs but he is a very sweet man and will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends.
*I think I need to edit my new years resolution list, to read FOLLOW THRU ON EVERYTHING YOU AGREE TO DO!!!  And Maybe that means, don’t agree to TOO much.*

GOals 2009

I Believe in having goals.  I don’t believe in having new years resolutions, because I never keep up with them!  This year, I realize that I need to make some changes in my home, and with myself.  I’m going to make them month by month and try and post about how I did on them at the end of the month, and what my new goals will be at the beginning of the month.
CHanges in my home:
-Be more organized.  This means in cleanliness, schedules/routines, as well as bill paying.  It can be done!! I bought a calendar tonite, and have already filled it all out for bills and events this week.  I’m quite proud of myself!
-Stay on top of laundry, go back to do doing one load a day, so I can stay on top of it.  Back when I just did one load a day, I was on top of the laundry.  Even if the load was 5 things, I was on top of it. I know it’d help Dave out a lot.
-Clean Kitchen before going to bed.  That way I can make meals in there!
-Clean front room before going to bed.  I hate waking up to the stresses of what I need to clean. :(
Changes in ME:
-Exercise a bit more.  Not overdo it, but dang it, I need to exercise!  We have the WII FIT, so I can use that, or use the exercise ball we have, or go to my moms and use the treadmill/elliptical.  We’ll see.  I should probably set up a schedule with that, but just starting to do it, will be a good thing for me.
-Eating healthier.  We need to stop eating out, and cook more at home.  Which means I need to be more organized in my  shopping.  Most nights, if  we want to make something at home, we go to the store to get the stuff, and usually end up stopping somewhere on the way home.  How effective are we? LOL  So yeah.  EAT HEALTHIER!
-This one goes for both home and me, but to stop eating out.  It would save us money, and also help us be healthier.  I think Dave and I should plan 2 nights a month (on weekends we don’t have KD) and just go out the two of us.  Get a babysitter for Bai.  That way it gives us our time alone!

Anybody had these?
They are surprisingly good, and I’d definitely get them again!

Cherry Limeade and Blue Raspberry Lemon were definitely my favorites!  I’d never seen them before today.  I got them at Wal-mart :)
They are by far better than those disgusting Chocolate Skittles, I couldn’t even bring myself to try those!!!
